On our Forum members has a quote by Frank Zappa concerning so many books and too little time. I finally looked up Frank Zappa and read about him and I came across his song he made with his daughter, Moon Zappa. The song was Valley Girl. The song made me smile.
Speaking of rockers, I was never a big fan of Queen back in the day but now really like their music. I guess with their lifestyle I just assumed they were only into sex, drugs and rock and roll. I was very surprised to discover that the lead guitarist, Brian May, is an astrophysicist. Just goes to show you that you can never judge a person by their looks. The lead singer, Freddie Mercury, had a fantastic voice and wonderful vocal range.

He had a four octave vocal range. That's a relatively rare ability. I was always a Queen fan. But I was naive and didn't pay any attention to lifestyle choices or anything. I only knew I liked their music.
I do the same thing, SRJ; I enjoy the music & ignore their personal lives. I've laughed that I don't need to go see the movie about Elton John; even tho' I try to ignore the personal lives, I know enough about his, etc. I'd rather just listen to his music; for me it's some of the greatest out there. Hmm, think I'll pull some up on YouTube while I'm working here...
I'm not a fan of Frank Zappa's music, but I absolutely love We Are Not Alone from the Cheap Thrills album. I took my granddaughter to the Queen concert last week as we are both fans and it was stunning--the best concert I've ever attended! The music and the visual effects were incredible.

I totally loved Freddie Mercury's vocal range. Sadly, his life style caught up with him. Are the living original members still playing or is it new members?

Yes, the original members are still playing. Adam Lambert, from American Idol, is doing the lead vocals. I've heard him singing the Queen songs and he's really good. There was a Documentary on TV about Queen and how Adam became the lead singer.

Brian May and Roger Taylor from the original band are on the present tour.

Speaking of Brian May, I found out last month that he's an astrophysicist. I guess I looked at him and figured sex, drugs and rock and roll only. Shame on me. He was interviewed for one of the 50 year anniversary specials for the moon landing.
