mjbett , was it you that liked Regency m/m books or am I thinking of another era? Anyway, I got an email about book 2 of this series coming out soon and thought of you. I don't typically read Regency but it does look good. Mystery with m/m romance and I typically like the authors.
Thanks I do sorta like historical MM. Considering the societal restrictions, the HEA is more complicated but it can be done. Merrow has a few good ones. Or KJ Charles' Magpie series is excellent, though that has some fantasy elements.
Role Model: A Gay Sports Romance (Game Changers Book 5) Rachel Reid. I had already posted this. It releases on the 10th. I'm more shocked on the price jump. $9.99 now! This is from Harlequin's Carina Press and usually start at $4.99, sometimes up to $6.99. I've never seen one at $10 before. I'm hoping that's not a new trend. At $5-$6 I'm willing to try an unknown (after sampling) or pick up an occasional new release but I'm a lot less willing to do that at this new price point.
Role Model is now at $6.99. I think that's what it was listed at originally. I was pretty disappointed in her last one so I'll be waiting on reviews for this.
Lisa Oliver released a new book on August 6th. I just got the notice from Amazon today (I follow her) and didn't receive an email from her because otherwise I'd have bought it on the 6th! I guess I'll check and see if somehow an email from her went to my spam folder. Anyway, love her books so as soon as I finish Finn I'll start hers. Yay!
October 12th The Rock Star's Guide to Getting Your Man Ashlyn Kane. $6.49/294 pgs. I've enjoyed a couple of her collaborations with Morgan James but I haven't been as lucky with her solo works.
January 25, 2022. Something Fabulous Alexis Hall. $3.99, no page count. Sounds promising but he's inconsistent for me.
April 26th, 2022 The Long Game (Game Changers Book 6) Rachel Reid. No cover or page count. Currently listed at $4.99 but I've seen a lot of these Carina Press books go up to $6.99 or even $7.99. I'm somewhat tempted because I loved book 2 (this is a continuation of their story) but I've been disappointed in her last couple releases.
October 28th Down and Out: Down Home Book 3 Parker St. John. $4.99, no page count. I liked book 1 but haven't read the second yet.
November 25th Hex Work: Babylon Boy Book One TA Moore. $3.29. No page count but she's pricing it like her Shift novella series so I'm thinking this is prob short too. <<sigh>> Ok, I understand an author wanting/needing to follow the muse but I'm finding her penchant to start new series and leave the existing ones in unfinished limbo to be very irritating. I'll keep an eye on her for any standalone books but I really don't think I'm going to pick up any more of her serials.
A Taste of Gold and Iron Alexandra Rowland. 416 pgs./$14.99. June 21st. Macmillan. Marketed as The Goblin Emperor meets "Magnificent Century". Sounds pretty good but the price (wowza!!) precludes a preorder. I'll have to see some reviews first and, honestly, it'll still be a couple dollars over my top price. $10-$12 is about my limit but we'll see 😏
Star Crossed (3 book series) Lisa Henry. Henry doesn't seem to do much promotion so I often don't see hers until they've already been released. Book 1 released on November 5th. Book 2 is January 7th. Book 3 is March 4th. $4.99 each and book 1 at least is in KU. 289 pgs for book 1. No page count for the sequels but I expect something similar. Not sure if there is any crossover between books but the premise for the series is one famous H, one regular guy. So far reviews are mixed but I usually like Henry.
Dirty Work: Dirty Deeds Book 1 TA Moore. March 4th. No page count. OMG...she needs to work on her unfinished series instead of starting all these new ones.
Rebel Kings MC (2 book series) Garrett Leigh. MMM duet. February 3rd, June 7th. Eh, her new stuff hasn't really worked for me but I might give it a shot.
Down in Flames (Down Home Book 4) Parker St. John. February 25th. I liked the first but the sequels haven't delivered. Still, it's a maybe.
Something Fabulous Alexis Hall. January 25th. I think this has already been posted but worth another mention so close to release. I'm looking forward to this and am cautiously optimistic.
Sink or Swim (Shore Leave Book 2) Annabeth Albert. February 2nd. Again, book 1 was disappointing. And this is listed at $9.99?!?!? At $4.99 I'm willing to take a risk but not at $10.

I've borrowed some of her books from the Brooklyn Public Library. I don't live there but pay $50 for an annual membership. It's well worth it as they have a ton more ebooks than my local library. I will go see if they have this available to put on hold.
ETA: yes it was available as ebook and audiobook so I placed the ebook on hold. I'm #10 on 1 copy but there are very few books I'd pay $9.99 for.
Were-Geeks Save the Middle of Nowhere (Were-Geeks Save the World Book 3) by Kathy Lyons
I enjoyed the first two books of this series and now I see there is a third book out. :-) I thought I'd post here in case any of you would like to read it too. And no, it's not available at my local library or at Brooklyn. If I want to read it, I have to spend the $6.99. But I'll do it as soon as I read some of the books I've bought recently.

Up to $6.99. And it has a cover now! I like the cover but prob won't preorder, especially now that I've missed the $4.99 price Eh, I have plenty to read so I can't complain. It'll be better to get some reviews first so I can manage my expectations;)
