Is there a sub-genre you'd like to see authors write more on?
For me it's Steampunk romance. There are a few authors I enjoy, but they don't write as much as I'd like. Or maybe they've slowed down. I like Meljean Brook, Bec McMaster & Kristen Callihan.

I've never read Steampunk. I seem to go through phases in m reading. Now I'm enjoying good romantic suspense or sweet contemporary. If JD Robb would kindly write her In Death books, say one every two weeks (I'm not greedy), or Lauren Gilley stop PRN writing and go back to her Dartmoor type books and Marina Zapata write more than one book a year I'd be a happy camper.
Well, I have a few subgenres/themes I want authors to NOT write any more of... Time travel. Billionaires. Please, no more billionaires. Special forces OTT heroes are OK, MC are OK, but special forcess OTT heroes in an MC.... What I would like to read more of is fantasy romance where each book is about a different couple, like The Embraced series by Kerrelyn Sparks.

I have all three authors, but just like everything else, I'm way behind in reading them, so it wouldn't matter if they did produce more; I'd just be stockpiling! I esp. like Callihan's work, but I'm still way behind.
I agree with BB; weekly J D Robbs would be nice...fantasy land but still, like NR doesn't have a right to a life! Since I'm not keeping up with most of my authors (J D Robb does get read immediately but that's the only one), I guess I've not really gotten tired of any special area...well, some days, maybe some of the shifters, but who would I give up? Certainly not the dragons! And I like the unusual animals, I still laugh at the alpha hedgehog!
Contemporary small town Western romances that are not second chance. For some reason, the second chance romance trope shows up in this subgenre far more than any other I've seen.
Let me tell you ladies, we'd be a big group of happy campers if J.D. Robb wrote more than 2 In Death stories a year!!! However since she does write as Nora Roberts, too, we know she's a busy writer. I'm thankful for those 2 a year. At least she stays consistent. The sad part is every time a new book comes out I know I've become six months older....

I don't know about Ms. Roberts mystery series, but according to Amazon writing in both names 164 bks were released this year alone. The reason I mention this is that I met her nephew who worked @borders (many yrs ago) since I ironically questioned how the front table seemed every week to display another Robert's book and asked him if she ever sleeps. His response was that his Aunt has insomnia. So when I read your statement about a book every 6 months is probably in between all her other books.
Here comes the sun even though I love that rainy day feeling!
JD Robb/Nora Roberts should just put her real life on hold, even her new grandson, and do nothing but write! I'm not asking for too much, am I?
Why not call Ms. Robert's book store in Boonsboro, Maryland called Turn the Page and let the manager know you would like more Robb bks. She has a great group of writers 2x yrly doing signings @her bookstore, except they are always held in February and July. Boonsboro is in the Appalachians in Western Maryland so in July you don't want to be waiting outside in the hazy, humid high heat in line, or in February in the damp cold snow. That's why I've never been to her book signings. Also Ms. Roberts and her hubby own an Inn which burned down several yrs ago but rebuilt and became the theme along with book covers of actual scenes from inside her Inn incorporated into her books.

The good news about that is, should I start, there are enough to keep me busy for a while
Gasp!! I so envy you! I'd love to be able to rediscover her and have soooo many books to read. If you decide to read her In Death series read them in order as things will make so much more sense. If you have a 2nd hand books store in your area I'd start there and save some $$. However, book 1 is pretty cheap - Naked in Death (In Death, Book 1) by J.D. Robb (Kindle Edition). Enjoy!

I remember when I first started reading the series...I devoured them!! If you like audios, Susan Erickson is a FABULOUS narrator, she does all JDR's In Death books. Check out your library for the audios.
I wish Julie Garwood, Iris Johansen, Catherine Coulter, Heather Graham and Nora Roberts would go back to writing historical romance.
I'm trying to remember but I can't come up with any Nora Roberts Historical Romance! Natasha, can you tell me a couple titles?
I agree, I rather doubt I'd ever attend one of the signings at TTP, partially because they're in Maryland & I'm in SW Ohio, but more because I don't buy the print copies anymore (except the pbk of the ID's). I did enjoy the Inn Boonsboro series tho'! Love the look of the Inn, but don't really care for the décor of the Eve/Roarke suite. Love the couple & the series, not the futuristic décor!

kc I'll have to dig out my very old dtbs and get back to you. Also, I bought the Inn series and really bored with the 1st one so dnf. Seemed like too much detail of renovations and too soon insta-love. However I have loved all of Ms. Roberts bks, but I've never read any under her pen name J. D. Robb. Not a fan of mystery/suspense in my romance. I'm pretty picky and seems what I do not like to read is what everyone else on these threads loves to read. Obviously the HR thread has no activity.
I think my biggest problem now not finishing bks is most are insta-love and I prefer the slow burn.
Also I do not buy print copies either. Since I live in Maryland hard not to visit the entire state since it's really small. I've been to Ohio a few times but not the SW. Have you ever been to the German Village in SW Michigan (can't think of the name) where the food is to die for. I visited friends in NW Ohio and they took me to the replica of a German village in Michigan. NW Ohio has a rich history of German ancestry so they think nothing of the drive to the village in Michigan.
