I read Clayton, Dallas and got to 45% of Cassius. I'm not sure why the series is called The Wildflower series since there was no mention, none at all, of calling anything or anyone Wildflowers until 3/4 of the way through the 2nd book, Dallas. I'm not sure why the books are titled as they are since the first 2 books are all about a female werewolf named Rya. There's nothing but tragedy for this poor woman. Her mate, Clayton, rejects her for another woman when they are teenagers, she gets whipped for a feeble attack of the 'other wolf'. Her pack shuns her then 'oops, the shunning was only supposed to last a week, not years'. 95% of the people she encounters treat her like crap. Particularly her 'mate' who wants nothing to do with her. When she does manage to find a level of contentment the mate that doesn't want her still likes to jerk her around emotionally. Everyone makes mistakes and Rya is supposed to understand and forgive. When she makes a mistake she's abandoned by her boyfriend, Dallas. The other characters jerk her around like an emotional yoyo.
Cassius is about a different couple and I hoped the series would get better but it was just another story about a long suffering heroine and the jerk she's obsessed with. I'm not a fan of books that rely on the emotional abuse of a character in place of a decent plot. I probably would have stuck with it and even enjoyed the books if they were shorter.
The books are well written and edited fairly well. They're are part of KU. If you like werewolf stories filled with emotional pain and drama this may be a series for you.
