I enjoyed The Vanishing and will listen to it again.
There's quite a bit of information packed into this start of a new series. If you're a fan of the Arcane Society or Ghost Hunter series you'll love this book. It definitely had that 'Harmony' world feel for me.
An incident many years ago gave the people of Fogg Lake psychic abilities. The children of the original inhabitants have talents as well. When they were teens best friends Catalina and Olivia were camping in the local caves when they witnessed a murder. Years later the women have their own investigation firm and use their respective talents in background checks and minor mysteries.
When Olivia is kidnapped Catalina must join forces with Slate Trevelyan, a man with his own talents and secrets. Like all Jayne Ann Krentz, Amanda Quick, Jayne Castle books there's a murder and a list of possible suspects.
I liked both Catalina and Slate. Catalina is smart and thoughtful, Slate is protective and knowledgeable about investigating. Classic JAK. I listened to the audio and enjoyed Sandra Michelle's narration.
