Strange Love was a strange story. Beryl is picking up trash as part of her community service when she's mistaken for Zylar of Kith Balak's chosen mate and abducted along with her dog. It was a fun story of mistaken identity that quickly turned into a 'let's make the best of it' relationship. Adding in a 'survivor' type competition to prove their worth in procreating. Zylar is definitely alien. I'm not squeamish about my alien heroes and I had no qualms believing the human / insect-like alien relationship in Cottonwood. However some of the sex scenes were just a bit too far fetched and graphic for me and pulled me out of the story rather than in. The story was well written and imaginative with intelligent pragmatic characters. It's currently part of KU and should satisfy fans of truly alien sci-fi heroes.
