Riven Knight was a very good conclusion to the story arc started in Gypsy King. The book was about the romance between Genevieve and Isaiah. In book one Genevieve was told her mother had been murdered and the biological father she never knew was the prime suspect. She was kidnapped and barely escaped. Finally being rescued by Isaiah. They're both hiding secrets about what really happened the day she was kidnapped and Isaiah rescued her. To keep from having to testify against each other they get married. Isaiah was imprisoned for manslaughter and has his own secrets. Genevieve is till mourning her mother, trying to come to terms with having a father and a half brother that hates her. All this while still trying to discover the identity of her mother's real murderer.
I liked Genevieve and Isaiah as a couple. I felt like Genevieve was willing to compromise and do what needed to be done to keep the marriage going. As much as I liked Isaiah I thought he was a bit too sulky at times. He's also one of those characters that had trouble moving forward from his past.
I listened to the audio book and enjoyed the dual narration. I look forward to the next book in the series to be released in May.
