Is there a cozy spot that you like to go to to read, or do read wherever you can find some peace and quiet?
I can usually read on the couch whether my husband is home, or not. Unless he's listening to something that's loud or distracting enough to pull me out of my story. If that happens I'll slip into the bedroom. I'd love to have a room that's farther away from the living room with a comfortable reading chair I could curl up in.
I have a recliner chair, with a blanket, in the corner of my bedroom. I've tried to read on the couch or laying down on my bed, but I can't do it for long. They are not as comfortable to relax on as my recliner.
I'm usually reading in bed; mostly on my side. Hours can fly by while I'm doing that. I try reading while in the big chair (rocker/recliner) in the living room, but it faces the big windows across the back & I get distracted by various things, regardless of the book. Usually when I'm in the big chair, I have an afghan across my legs, the tv on & the stitching in hand. Mom always preferred sitting at a table or in front of a frame when stitching; I prefer sitting with my legs up & holding the stitching in front of me. She never understood how I could stitch that way; my back ached doing it her way. My sister doesn't understand how I can read for so long lying in bed; she keeps saying I should get one of those adjustable beds so I can sit up easily. Keep telling her I don't want it! She enjoys reading in a chair & not a rocker/recliner. Ah well, different ways for all three of us!
I have a reading / sitting area in my bedroom. I have a bookshelf with my fav dtb and dvd. A recliner for comfort and a table to hold my drink and snacks. My chair sits beside a window and I can look out over the forest. It's a comfy, quiet spot for reading or listening to audio books while I crochet. I also read while propped up in bed.
I also read in bed, mostly at a night when a book has me hooked, and I should be sleeping. My other reading spot is on the family room sofa. I put an afghan over my legs, and my cat, Molly, curls up on top or beside me. We are a cozy pair!

I do have my stitching room I could slip into if need be. It's just that although my recliner is good for stitching, it's not really a curl-up-comfy-reading-chair. If I ever find the right chair I'll have to trade the matching recliner out for it. Hmmmm, wonder if I could bring my kindle to a furniture store and spend an afternoon testing out their chairs?!!

Hey, we've got ads where folks are trying out beds or bedding overnight in the store; why not this as well! Just make sure the new recliner works for stitching as well as reading. Would hate to lose the one to get the other!
