I have a friend who is working at Yellowstone National Park this summer. They are experiencing catastrophic flooding in parts of the park. The park is closed and guests have been evacuated, but the employees are still there. The area she is in is without power but otherwise okay, but the northern part is really bad.
okay, we got a huge amount of rain yesterday evening with the severe thunderstorm that stomped thru; flash flood warnings all over the place & lots of power outages (happily, not mine!) but looking at that flooding puts ours in perspective! Oh that's such a mess! I'm glad your friend is doing okay. I'm sorry for all the folks with vacations destroyed, etc.
Finally saw this at movie joint. I wanted late Matthew's Mom, Isobell (widow of a doc) to wed the local doc-but I already knew she wed a lord instead. I liked the humor. Mary's spouse was racing cars all over, but he never made an appearance! Granny stole nearly every scene! Two couples confessed love-no hints allowed.
I have this series on DVD: makes me want to watch it all over.
Hi, all! I'm checking in briefly. I've had to stay with my mother since Sunday because she is too weak to be alone. I had to call an ambulance for her Monday afternoon. The hospital didn't keep her, but she's not well. I took her to her GP yesterday and she will see the oncologist tomorrow.
My sister is coming Saturday to stay with her for a few days. That will give me a break to be at home so my husband and I can finish setting up mom's room at our house. Did I mention mom and I both caught covid at one of her doctor appointments on June 1? That put me behind on getting mom moved, because we were both sick but I was having to take of her. That was not fun. I'm mostly better, and mom had the antibody infusion treatment. Luckily we are both fully vaccinated and had the boosters. That and the infusion kept mom from developing full pneumonia on top of the lung cancer, but she is very weak and requires a lot of help.
Anyway, that long rambling post is to say I may not be on again until Saturday when my sister gets here. Thank you all for being such an easy and pleasant group. Also a huge thank you to Banana Boat for picking up the slack when I'm not here.

Happy reading!
You + Mom got COVID at the same time? Hope you are both stronger now. I'm sure your Mom appreciates all your TLC. Hang in there!
I am taking a few days off from work to rest and relax at home before summer heat really kicks in, and I am sort of enjoying the going to bed late, if only an hour later I get to enjoy it simply doing nothing. (Baby is already asleep, I don't know if it was here that someone suggested a sound machine, if it was here whoever you were you are our hero.)
Banana Boat whoever did that to those poor kittens I hope the universe repays them in kind. And to the man who found and cleaned them may he also get the universe to pay him in kind. That was amazing what he did.
agreads I hope your mom feels much better soon, it's a lot for anyone to handle, and as Natasha said she is fortunate to have you and your sister right by her side. I hope you feel better as well, I know second hand that covid leaves a weird body exhaustion that no matter how much you want to shake it off it doesn't go away that easy. (A few co-workers have said this) Just get better, make your mom comfortable and finish that room in order to move her in. I wish you the best.
Agreads I'm sorry that you and your mother got Covid on top of everything else that you are struggling with. I hope your mom will feel better soon. Blessings upon you and your sister for caring for your mother. And kudos to you and your husband for making room for mom at your house. I hope the move goes smoothly. Take care of yourself!

Keep a close eye on your Amazon credits. Last week or the week before there was a promotion "buy $20.00 worth of ebooks and earn a $5.00 digital credit". I did and received a message that I'd earned the $5.00. Still had the $5.00 credit yesterday but when I checked today it had gone down to $2.01. I double checked my ebook buys and I've bought nothing but freebies so should still have the $5.00 credit. I did contact Amazon via email chat and they stated they'd credit me $3.00 back to my gift card account. They were very quick and nice but I will be checking later tonight or tomorrow to make sure I get the credit. Heads up.
ETA - I just double checked and I did get $3.00 added to my gift card.
