Romance w/ mystery and a Scottish hero. Gave this 4 of 5 stars. Kisses.
This had an unraveling mystery. Who could one trust?
Wealthy, self-made man, Andrew became an earl after the death of his grandfather. The government required him to prove
his late parents were married (they were). Heroine Lady Jane (his grandpa was her step-da) & family lived on grandpa's land.
Lady J and family assumed Andrew was poor, not too bright, & backward socially. The h played into these stereotypes. Jane
eventually regretted these assumptions.
The couple showed genuine love. In a weak moment, Jane told him off, but struggled with how to win him back? He left her
a letter before called away. He wrote "Ye were born to shine bright." Sigh.
