England 1214. This had sex scenes toward the end.
Nigel Crispin had twin 18 yr old daughters Milisant & widowed Jhone. He fought in the Holy Land
& saved his friend Guy de Thorpe's (an earl) life. They pledged Mili & Wulfric to marry in future.
Nigel became wealthy as part of the Crusades.
Mili wished she'd been born a boy. She wore boy's clothes, mastered a bow & arrow & was an excellent
hunter. She had a pet wolf, hedgehog etc. She lived this way into young adulthood. Jhone preferred
feminine dress & avocations.
MCs met when she was 6 & he 13. She held a grudge for his actions that day. He was a warrior & took
yrs to claim her as his wife. When Wulf met her again- she was shy! She was Jhone. Wulf made it his
business to protect Mili & to make her into a lady. Someone wanted to prevent the marriage of these 2.
Mili was too mistrusting & Wulfric too bossy. Mili could not go outside the castle w/o the escort of Lady Anne
(Wulf's mom), Wulf, or an escort of guards. Mili assumed b/c Wulfic was a warrior that he'd beat his wife
and mistreat his horse. Some of the MCs convos were witty, some had way too much heat.
