We haven't discussed holiday reads in a while. I don't go looking for them, but there are a few that I enjoy rereading throughout the year. No matter which holiday you like to read about, list your faves here.

Because you asked I couldn't think of a single holiday book and I know I've read hundreds of them! Going through my books I did find a few that I'd forgotten about but did enjoy a great deal.
Winter Fire by Jo Beverley (11/03) popped immediately to mind. It’s #6 in the Rothgar series and probably wouldn’t be as enjoyable if you aren’t familiar with the family that has gathered for the Christmas House Party. It’s not a fluffy book, more dark and angsty.
I’ve read the paperback multiple times but have it in audible for this year. I hope I like the narrator, Jenny Sterlin.
Here’s the blurb…
Genova Smith is a resourceful woman, but the Marquess of Ashart is a challenge even for her. Especially when she finds herself in the precarious position of accompanying him to the home of Lord Rothgar, his cousin and mortal enemy. Even more distressing, she and the infuriating rake have been caught in a passionate kiss, forcing her into the dangerous situation of pretending to be in love with the one man capable of stealing her heart...
Caught in an unwanted betrothal, Lord Ashart plays the game to protect a lady's virtue while pursuing darker purposes of his own. To survive, he must confront his cousin and his past, but the passion that ignites between him and Genova threatens everything. With her, he realizes he's finally met his match -- and if he isn't careful, their staged engagement may turn into something deliciously real...
This novella had a lady who taught music at a girl's school & a war hero/ heir to a baron, brother. They see her former student & her snobby/ lofty viscount bro at a social event. Viscount assumes they are fortune hunters.
I remember the Wassail bowl, but not all aspects. Did a verbal altercation or fisticuffs happen as a result?
mlover , I don't remember any fisticuffs or harsh words, but the unexpected use of the wassail bowl in the beginning.
Oops. I must have the wrong story. I thought the h dropped the wassail bowl or someone bumped it, then there was a fracas or argument. I've read too many roms for these old eyes.

No, mlover, you are exactly right about the bowl. I need to reread this to remember what happened next. It's a sweet story, IMO.
A Grosvenor Square Chirstmas - Amazon offers this for free every year. I'm a sucker for Regency Christmas anthologies, and this one is particularly good.
You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.
