Kicking off with this one. Still unsolved...
Help again please. I'm looking for a couple of books. A pair of cops/federal agents who either got framed or an op went wrong. Can't remember many details other than the second hero ended up in hospital with a broken leg (or bullet wounds). There's a nurse who helps them, I think by helping them change his room to hide from the baddies, and then helps get him out of the hospital the minute it's possible. She stays with him either coz he needs ongoing care or coz they don't want to risk leaving her in danger coz she'd helped them. I think the original couple has the heroine as the assignment (as a protectee or the subject of an investigation). I can't remember if there were any more after these first two.
Sorry the details are so vague, but it's the injured guy and the nurse who ends up helping and thus on the run with them that's stuck in my brain, and I cannot for the life of me find it.... which probably means it was in my stash of ebooks that got lost when my old computer carked it - meaning it's probably at least 3 years old.
