She has done this kind of thing before too - where she builds up a character in a series, so much so that we expect that book to be the best but it is a total let down .... she did this thing in her erotica - sweet series ...
Hmm, I'm thinking you're referring to Micah in his own star-turn as H in Sweet Temptation, and his unexpectedly misogynistic treatment of the h, especially in the degrading, infamous football game gangbang. Oh, and Cole as well, whom everyone clamored to have his own book but was rendered virtually unrecognizable in -- Sweet Addiction. They both went from fan faves in the earlier books to most-hated H's of the series.
No, It's Cole's book .... he was built up as being more alpha than others and a really mysterious man .... he ended up playing second fiddle with the other H in that book .... I liked him better ..
Samantha K - The original thread was one of my fave stomping grounds ("stomp" often being the operative word! Ha) so, for what it's worth, I too recall that the OP was referring to the H's betrayal of the h. Naturally it included infidelity, but was not limited to it. Other egregious acts e.g. H throwing a h he supposedly loved off a cliff definitely qualified, as does the intent to hand h over to a crime lord to be raped and murdered.
I recall another early Worst Betrayal rec that generated a lot of discussion and outrage but for the life of me can't recall the title. I'll look through my archived books for it; meanwhile:
**Spoilers** Manwhore H has a s-i-l (big bro's wife) whose parents die in an accident leaving the younger daughter, around 9 yo, orphaned. She comes to live w/her big sister and hubby on hubby's & H's family ranch, and develops insta-love for the H. He's around 10 yrs older than her and she asks him to wait for her to grow up so she can marry him. He's flattered and promises he'll wait and marry her one day as long as she stays chaste as he'll only marry a virgin. She vows to do so and does, while he, of course, steps up his manwhoring as he matures into manhood, even insensitively bringing gf's & ONS back to the ranch, causing her heartache. Fast fwd to h as 18 yo. She's gorgeous, charismatic, graduating HS w/honors and heading to college. She's written as outspoken and notoriously strong-willed, so after H rejects her because she's still too young IIRC, she makes her first attempt to move on and brings home a bf. Of course, H goes Neanderthal on her. More angst, a few more clashes, they finally get on the same page and he declares his feelings for her. One night at her new apt they have intense foreplay, she tries to seduce him, but the whole virgin clause kicks in and he insists on waiting till they're married. He leaves and a little while later she steps out to throw out the trash...only to find him having full-on sex with her bff on the hood of his parked truck. She tells him it's over and he'll NEVER have her virginity. H's not all that apologetic, all things considered; he's more focused on chest-beating...reminding her she's HIS and will NEVER be with anyone else. She's determined to hurt him back by giving his "prize" away. He proceeds to plot and intervenes in the most wall-bangingly despicable way. The train wreck continues from there to a dubious HEA. Some readers felt H eventually gave good grovel but that was definitely a point of contention. Most, like myself, found him irredeemable.
readerista , this sounds good hope someone remembers the title.
One review on GR says H was bi-polar .... is that true? Please tell me author does not use that as a poor excuse for his behavior ...

I'm looking for a book I read a while ago about a guy who gets his girlfriends bff pregnant. She decides to go away to college, he feels abandoned and gets drunk one night and sleeps with the friend and gets her pregnant. He never tells his girlfriend that he married the bff, just ignores her. They go on to have two kids total, but then the wife(ow) gets pregnant by her daughters coach and runs off to meet him but somehow she dies in a car crash. Then we find out that the coach was sexually harassing her daughter in his class. Heroine comes home to help sister get ready for her wedding and of course they get back together. But the daughter of the other woman really likes the h, and knows what her mother did to her bff all those years ago. The H is a cop and gets put on leave bc he beats up the coach. Any ideas of what this book is called? It's not Always a Bridesmaid, lol.

Sounds interesting, hope someone remembers it, I would like to read.
This is a second chance romance that is a little bit different. The H and h are a couple, he cheats and gets ow pregnant and for some reason marries her and dumps h with a video call. (h actually has the thought, that many have said, during the extremely brief call that WTH? Why is he marrying her, does he know what century it is?) h comes back to the home town to help out a friend and they meet up again, H is divorced with one kid. I felt really oddly like the H and the h had switched roles somehow. He felt more like the girl in the relationship? I'm not sure but it felt different. The h (if she was real!) would be my bff, no question! She holds a serious grudge, not just with H but with her father who cheated on her mother as well as her friend's loser husband. And she doesn't magically forgive everyone immediately. The father doesn't ever get much more than a tentative date for lunch in the epilogue! She does not hold her tongue with anyone in the town and takes down more than one gossipy mean girl verbally. The H is extremely sorry and kind of desperate to get her back and I would like his mother for my own. She slaps him upside the head and tells him to ball up more than once cause it is all his fault. Nobody makes more than a limp attempt to convince her to forgive him and when he screws up and she leaves, she actually leaves and takes her time coming back while he mopes and moans around town. He is not an alpha by any means. She doesn't go into a deep freeze and become a born again virgin after he cheats either. No relationships but she does not sit home alone very much. It had a few editing errors but was ku so I give those a pass. I found the kind of gender reversal feeling to be interesting and different anyway.

dvcbunny, I don't think bump works here. Of course it works here!! (Edited so that I don't sound like a complete idiot...). On another note does the "dvc" stand for a school you might have gone to?
