Been having a bad case of book-hangover for a few days and trying desperately to find something to hold my interest. My most recent failure is Sacked by Jen Frederick wich I gave up on 30% in. It's not really BAD, I just never really bonded to either MC. The hero is a virgin star athlete who has decides the heroine is "the one" within minutes of meeting her and then goes borderline creepy stalker on her. Not a fan of instalove and OTT heroes so this was not for me. (I know there are some readers in this forum who would love this ) The heroine was also being pushed around by everyone but I didn't stick around long enough to find out if she ever grew a backbone. To be fair, this series was pushed at me because I loved The Game On series by Kristen Callihan and Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus series so my expectations were really high and I was almost bound to be disappointed.
This book has great ratings on Goodreads and Amazon so I'm in the minority. Maybe I should just reread old favourites until my book-mojo returns

"Susan hated Literature. She’d much prefer to read a good book." -Terry Pratchett, Soul Music
bookwyrm Hi, sometimes there are books that have amazing reviews and are shown so much love but then when you read them yourself you're left wondering what the heck made the book popular to begin with. I have not read Sacked, but we all have certain preferences we look for in a book, and some books just don't fulfill the expectations.
I have a list happening of sports romance novels in the section of Romancing the Jock. You could try some from there if they interest you. If nothing does then you should re-read your old favorites. I will be posting some football romance books later on in the week (maybe tomorrow before I start prepping) for the Thankgiving/Turkey weekend.
Just finished Icing (Aces Hockey 2) by Kelly Jamieson. I’m not interested in reading the other books in the series. The story is cute if you disregard the tired cliche of two super beautiful people coming together (pro hockey player and model)
