I need help finding this book.

I read this book a couple years back and I can not remember the title. It was about a very young woman in her early twenties that has beaten cancer. She has not been out of her house for a long time, but she decides to go to a bar. While she's there, she meets a really sexy guy abs they go to her home to get in between the sheets. He's shocked to find out she's a very, but he still gives in to temptation. They fall in lice with each other but he winds up leaving her because he thinks that she will get tired of him since this is her first experience with a man. They get back together at a party. They sneak off somewhere and make love, but then a commotion starts. The guy tells the girl to stay where she is a leaves her naked in the hall. The guy winds up getting shot trying to save someone but he lives. I know it is the first book in a series of three. I really need help finding it because it has been weighing heavy on my heart.
