i often look at the Amazon reviews before downloading a book even if it is free. Typically under the section named Rated by Customers Interested In there are categories such as Literature and Fiction, Fantasy Romance....etc. I don't pay a lot of attention to this but it usually catches my eye and it has always been relevant to reading. Anyway, there was a book named Witchlight by J.S. Watts listed in the freebie thread. The book was rated by people interested in Cat Supplies, Organic Food and The Art of Shaving.. WTH??? I was in such a goofy mood before reading that, that it made me cry I was laughing so hard. Probably not that funny but I enjoyed the laugh anyway.
Unfortunately, that sounds like it was a part of paid-for-review scheme. I know people online who do those, and they get all kinds of random products as well as books.
Yes, I saw one as well the other day. Not only that, but the "reviewer" stated she would reorder this "product" and use it again and again.
Y'all are such cynics! I'm sure that the reviewer meant that this particular book would be a reread for her. I can just see her lovingly giving it a place on her "favorites" shelf over on Goodreads.

Cynicism? I prefer to think of it as having a good grip on reality.
