I love listening to audiobooks when I'm working, doing dreaded housework and I'm even eager to get on the treadmill if I'm listening to an audio I particularly enjoy. The narrator can either make or break the experience though! I'm with jiffsmom I love Roslyn Landor but absolutely hate Anne Flosnik! She ruined one of my most loved books, The Prize by Julie Garwood. I have so many audios, here are some that I love and have listened to time and again.
I love the narrator of Cleeland’s books 1-3. I regularly re-listen to them.
The narrator for the 4th book is good but definitely different than the previous narrator. In some ways better depending on the character.
Hi variedbooks, I agree, I loved the narrator of the first 3 Doyle and Acton books. I don't mind the current narrator although I wish that Acton's ' voice' was more masculine lol.

The 1st narrator made Acton Sound sexy. I like how the 2nd narrator does the voice for Williams.
Is anyone on the thread a subscriber to the Audible Romance Package? I subscribed a few months ago ($6.99/mo because I'm a kindle unlimited subscriber) and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with selection.

The Romance Package seems to be Audible's take on Kindle Unlimited. I did the trial month, but too many romance books I wanted to listen to are not in the program. Some books in a series would be included, but not all. I had 30 books in my wish list, mostly romance, and none of them were in the romance package. If you listen to even one book a month, this could be a real bargain, but I could not justify the extra money.
ETA: I was an Audible member long before Amazon bought them out.

I’ve never heard of it? What is it?
Hi Varied - Here's the link.https://www.audible.com/ep/Romance-Package-Signup
Since signing up in mid December, I've listened to about 20 books, so for me it's been well worth it.
Not romance but many romance fans read this series, The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. The narrator in these books is fantastic. In fact if I read any of these books (re-read, since Butcher can't seem to write them anymore!!!!) I always hear Harry Dresden's voice as it is in the audio book. So if you are a fan of the series, this is a good one to 're-read' in audio format.

My husband loves this series. The narrator played Spike on the Buffy the Vampire series. I love his voice.

One of the books, Ghost Story, had a different narrator due to scheduling problems. I guess they got so many complaints that they actually re-released it with Marsters narrating.
I love audio books but I had an embarrassing mishap with one today. Somehow my book started playing when I put my phone down on the lunch table at work. I just dropped it off to claim my seat with my friends and went to get my lunch, not noticing that it somehow launched Audible and picked up where I had left off - at full media volume! It was on the most embarrassing part of the book too. I came back to the table to a whole bunch of teasing by the guys around me. Now I can't seem to finish the book that only has 30 minutes left because my mortification returns every time I try to turn it on.
No more romance audio books for me at work anymore. I'll stick with other genres there and leave the romances for my commute.

How embarrassing. I used to listen at work while doing the "mindless" tasks. Unfortunately I had to use speakers so I could listen for timers and radio calls. I got caught by a coworker who didn't let me know he was there.

I feel your pain. I can just imagine how embarrassing that was for you. But to read about it was funny.

Any suggestions for a library I can sign up for that has a nice selection of audible books? Our library has some, but most their audible books are non-fiction. We do have access to hoopla, but I'd like to listen to Kristen Ashley, Penny Reid, Linda Howard, etc and the selection is pathetic.
Why is it, the more books I read the taller my tbr stack gets?
