Vlad Vasiliev it's, officially, one of my favourite male protagonists of all time. His personality, his power, his ruthlessness, his actions... Vlad is one of the more heartless mobsters I had the pleasure to meet. He's a monster playing with the life of his pawns and he makes no apologies for it.

Irina Volkov it's a sweet heroine but she's defiant and little headstrong at the same time. She has fire and conviction... except when it comes to Vlad. She becomes a puddle of female hormones at his feet (which I love).
This story flows, the plot it's interesting and catchy, if not a little cliched at times. Doesn't matter anyway, because the secondary characters and their connections with the Vasilievs will have you out of your seat.
I'm dying for the second part of this saga. Veniamin's book.
