SOLVED Looking for a book- Historical Romance???

My mom was telling me about a book she read and she can't remember the author or title...but she wants to read it again.
Here is the info maybe someone can help based on this...
She is pretty sure it was a historical romance...significant event is that the h had to brand (as in mark with a hot object) the H.
That is all she can remember. Hopefully, this will jog someone's memory. She thinks the heroine name was something like Iona or Ilonna. But she can't be sure.
