Dead Girl Running - Christina Dodd
Ok. I am at 80% on my kindle for this one. It is like slogging through quicksand. I don't even know why other than any romance is slim to none. But even as a suspense novel, this is just dragging forever. Lots of stuff is happening although what you really want explained is continuously mentioned but so far not revealed. I read very quickly, a book a night is not unusual for me. I have been trying to finish this one for 3 days. The up side is I have gotten more sleep and gotten more stuff done around the house because I keep putting the kindle down when I get bored. If I had anything else to read, (major, huge IMMENSE slump with no end in site until possibly November) I would have given up already but it feels like I should finish since I have gone this far. I can't even give a good reason why this is not clicking with me but it is dryer than a desert with this thing! I have read a couple of good ones on KU recently when I can't force myself to open this one up but when will it end!!
Edit: Well, I finished it. Hell of a lot of action at the end and I am pretty sure the entire timeline is messed up but I don't want to go back and check. Part of a series but I am not going to continue it. Too unbelievable. One of the final confrontations is on a private plane, I guess in the aisle, involving a gun, physical fight including some sort of karate (or something) high kicks and struggles that just don't make any logistical sense. (There is a years old corpse involved that for some unknown reason doesn't appear to be decomposed? How? I don't care.).

At the end it is revealed the h had a child before she was shot in the head causing amnesia and running away from the hospital. She has been working at this resort for quite some time and the owners are family with the kid's dad and apparently know who the h is but don't make any effort to tell her about her kid until h is almost killed. Book ends before h confronts anybody about this and I don't care enough to read the next one but that is a really harsh betrayal in my mind. I would not be forgiving of any of them. Especially since they manage to tell everyone working at the resort before the h knows and "surprise her" with it by springing the kid on her with no prior explanation or preparation. They would have all gotten my middle finger but that is probably not what is going to happen.
