I read book one, Essential Beginnings by Kennedy Layne, a while back. Then I forgot about the series because I very rarely read apocolyptic/dystopian romance. I liked the book, though, and am wondering if anyone here read the others. Do you recommend it? Is it worth reading the rest, and is the series complete or are more books coming after #5?
I got it for free on ammy and just couldn’t finish it but that wasn’t because it was bad I just wasn’t in the head space to read. I don’t know when I will try again. I am wanting to find a good zombie romance so if you have any recs that would be great. Thanks
In 1887, history changed course. A new Plague turned the infected into flesh-eating monsters and bound the population to overcrowded cities. The rapid advance in technology creates opportunities for the rich, but also helps to spread new social ideas which challenge traditional Victorian morality. These are the stories of gentlemen, prostitutes, treasure hunters, soldiers and so many others who struggle to find love within the walls of a rotting city.
and this series I have never read but some of my friends liked it. I am not sure if it has a lot of romance. It might be more UF.
I like m/m m/f m/f/m as long as it’s a romance I guess I am gearing up for the return of the walking dead and wanted some good romance zombie books thanks

I have read the entire series (five books? not sure based on memory, sorry) and as far as I know, it is complete. I'd be happy to discover she has planned more. But since the last book was the story of the final member of the group, it seemed to be the conclusion.
I liked the series more as it went on. One thing I appreciated was there wasn't (as I recall) an excessive amount of repetition/recapping of the premise in later books, and not the excessive pages and pages and pages of sex that so many authors nowadays seem to use as filler. Bottom line: It's still memorable months later, which says a lot!

Here are two that I recommend. The Cassandra Gannon one is "safe". The H is a j/p H and the story is fun. Plenty of lol moments. The R.Lee Smith one is one of my all time favorite books ever but it isn't "safe" (there are triggers) and the story is a darker story with an anti-hero.
I read love in the time of zombies it’s a trilogy and I liked all of them. I started the land of the beautiful dead and I guess I wasn’t in the head space for it but I was planning to try again.

There are triggers in that book. If you need to know more about them, let me know. Also, it starts out slow and it's a long book. If you decide to read it, hang in there. It's like this orchestra that starts out with one instrument and slowly others join in until there's a symphonic crescendo that's amazing.

steff - Yeah. I didn't care for that part at all. It doesn't happen again, thankfully. I don't think it needed to be included in the book other than it illustrates how desperate the h was and how dismal the world had become. Do you need more info on possible other triggers later in the book?
