My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope your husband wasn't severely injured and you're mum's surgery went well.. and that they both make a full and speedy recovery.💐💐
This is actually pretty good. It's set on an alternate earth and reminds me a bit of steampunk but it's not. The H is a dominant, possessive alpha. It has strong d/s tones and light bdsm - tied h up, gag, spanking. The h's voice is off putting initially because it was so strange but it gets better. The h was supposedly already "mated" when she met the H but her mate was very abusive to her and she didn't love him. The H goes after her anyway though and I liked that. There are some flashbacks of the abuse. The only negative for me are the strong d/s tone. I do like a dominant H but I prefer my h to be more feisty.

I'm on the penultimate book in the Bastion club series (Stephanie Laurens). This means I get to read one of my ALL TIME favorite books next. I love the final book in this series.

I made it!! I'm finally on the last book. It's like coming back to spend time with an old friend after you've been away for a while. It just feels good!
Book 11 in this series just came out. It's about a person (Jesse, twin to Joel) who's had some kind of bee in his bonnet for several books now. My friend reminded me that book 10 gives clues as to what his problem is so I wanted to reread before moving on to book 11.
FYI - this series by Vivian Arend, is VERY similar Lorelei James's Roughriders series. She even has one book with a threesome. The books are about ranchers that live around Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. The books are explicit, some more erotica than others. But great stories about people you wish you could get to know. She also writes some shifter series. I particularly like Granite Lake Wolves and Takini Wolves. If you haven't tried any of her stuff yet, I highly recommend it.
