Are you one to read Christmas romances around the holiday?
We tend to see a lot of Christmas themed romance books from about late Oct-Dec. I personally don't read one unless it's within a series I'm already involved with. An example would be Jennifer Ashley's MacKenzies and McBrides series. Or Nicole Helm's Big Sky Cowboy series. I don't just pick one up BECAUSE it's Christmas.

I don't go looking for Christmas theme books this time of the year. I will however read one if it sounds good or is by an author I already enjoy. No, I haven't read one yet this year.
With me it varies year to year. This year I've not read any Christmas books but then not much reading at all accomplished this month. Usually I'm trying to finish the current year TBRs in December, so that's a factor, too.
Last year I worked in one of my Golden Oldie Favorites...
Winter Fire by Jo Beverley (11/03) (A+ Warm) - probably reading the 5 books before it in the Malloren series helped with my rating.
I think it was 2016 or 2017 I got really serious about reading bags of Christmas Anthologies that had been collected up. That was a unique reading experience though hadn't happened before and no wish for it now.
I read Christmas books whenever they peak my interest, year round, though if I find one around Christmas time and have the time for it there is a slightly larger chance than usual that I'll read it right away. I only read one in November this year and I have another short story that I'll probably manage before Christmas eve.
I'm normally doing like BB on this one: I don't go looking for them, but if it's an author I enjoy I'll probably pick it up. And nope, I've not read one yet this year. Maybe I'll pull out one of the In Deaths set around Christmas if I keep rereading those like I have been...
Good Thought, kareni! June is a good option & all the reminders of Christmas in July will help also. I'm usually pulling out my cd of John Denver & the Muppets in July as well!

I have tinnitus and it's tough falling asleep when there isn't white noise or something distracting me from the ringing. I listen to the In Death books because it I don't have to pay close attention since I know the story. I've been from Naked in Death to now Vendetta in Death many times. When I reach the last book in the series I start over. I'm currently on Visions in Death.
I'm not rereading in order any more; just picking whichever book appeals at the moment...usually thinking I'll just dip in & the next thing I know, I'm going thru the entire book. Ah well, so good!
I have so much fun watching Eve dealing with the beauty industry. They do just boggle her mind...or terrify her (Trina!) I guess I can sympathize; for a short time I did use cosmetics, but I dumped them decades ago. Decided they weren't worth the trouble!
Nope, don't look for or read Christmas / Holiday books unless it's part of a series I keep up with. The only exception are the In Death books but it doesn't have to be Christmas for me to listen to one of those. I scroll through my audios then pick one I'm in the mood to listen to again. Out of all my audio books J.D. Robb is the top author I go to when I want something I don't have to concentrate on. Ilona Andrews, Thea Harrison and Michelle Diener are also authors of audios I've listened to several times. I'm baking cookies with one of my granddaughters tomorrow. I'll probably start the audio to One Fell Sweep - Ilona Andrews. It's set at Christmastime and Sophie hasn't heard that one yet. If she doesn't want that we'll listen to Atticus: A Woman's Journey with the World's Worst Behaved Dog - Sawyer Bennett. It's one of Sophie's favorites and it's the audio she usually chooses on our road trips.
I do not go looking for Christmas themed books around this time of the year. I prefer the Christmas movies during this wonderful time of the year. I DO read them around the summer time, not all the time or anything but every once in a while I pick one up and pretend it's winter time during those hot days.
I've read more holiday books this year than I usually do. Mostly Harlequins. I reread the books in The Christmas Ladies collection by Grace Burrowes throughout the year. I love the romances in them, and the Christmas theme is not really big part of the books. A couple of weeks ago, I reread The Cop Who Stole Christmas (Tall, Hot & Texan Book 2) by Christie Craig, which is a light read with romantic suspense. It's a cute book.

I don't go looking for Christmas books, but if one sounds nice, I'll read it. I haven't read one this year, though I do have the Naughty List on my TBR pile. I'm actually not very fond of the Christmas theme in books, but I do enjoy Christmas films for some reason.
I prefer the Christmas movies during this wonderful time of the year.
It occurs to me, I've not had time to watch my favorites yet! Christmas in Connecticut (Barbara Stanwyck version!), Bishop's Wife, White Christmas & Holiday Inn, Christmas Carol (I love the Patrick Stewart version), Last Holiday, The Holiday, Love Actually, Christmas Carol with Mr. Magoo (that's reaching back a bit!) as well as Charlie Brown Christmas. I have others as well, but these are the main ones. I'd best get at it!
