And the next Thing You Know . . . (Why You?) Chase Taylor Hackett Really liked it. I preordered it after I read book 1 last year, which I also really liked. Pretty clean, no on page sex but plenty of sexual tension. They don’t get together until a bit past the halfway point but lots of good banter. The one H was the cheating boyfriend from book 1 and I thought he was redeemed quite nicely.
Thanks, mjbett, these look good! I'll have to try them.
ETA: The Brooklyn Public Library has these. I don't live near Brooklyn but I pay $50 a year to have a membership. They have a lot of ebooks, many M/M, and it's completely worth it to me to have this. My local library has very few M/M books and mostly audio books in their ebook section. I got the first book right away and put the second book on hold.
Thank you SO MUCH to whoever rec'd the first Pelican Bay book by Sloane Kennedy and then whoever mentioned the second. It had to be somewhere here -- and when I was reading the blurb for Pelican Bay #2 I realized it was the next book in the series. Yay! I loved these books. It wasn't easy to read the first book because both Hs had tough lives, but Dallas's life made me want to cry. I was so happy when he got his HEA. Then the latest book is about Dallas' brother, Maddox. I can't wait for the next book, which will be about Cam and Ford (not a spoiler, really). And I'm hoping that eventually Jeff will get his own book and HEA. :-) Write faster, Ms Kennedy!!
I'm going to do something I rarely do --- I'm going to write a review.
The #gaymers series is set before the Out of Uniform books. The characters in the first series make appearances in the second series. I really like this author's books. I sometimes have to stop a series and take a timeout. I started On Point Book 3 in the Out of Uniform series and had to put it aside for a while. I have already purchased Book 4 and the first book in her next series.

Oh, I hope you like it. I’m glad you were able to get it as a loan so I don’t have to feel bad if you end up hating it;) Obviously, it wasn’t perfect but (for me) it was the kind of book where the flaws weren’t really an issue until it was over. I felt the author did a really good job creating authentic characters and the dialogue really flowed. Stilted/fake dialogue is a real book killer.

I started Where Do I Start? this morning. Fletcher isn't a very sympathetic character, is he? At least, not yet......but the book is engaging and I'm liking it.
I finished Where Do I Start? this morning and ended up loving it. At the beginning, Fletch wasn't a very sympathetic H but by the end, after watching him grow as a person, I just loved him. Looking forward to book 2; I'm #4 on the list and the library has two copies so it shouldn't be long. :-)

So glad you liked it! Book 2 is even better though I like the couple from book 1 better. They pop up in a brief scene in the sequel. I wish they had been in a bit more but I’m glad the book focused on the main story too. In book 1 it did bug me that
The cheating was never totally addressed. Was Fletch actively seeking out hookups? Grindr? Or was he just kinda taking up “opportunities” as they presented themselves? What was his thought process as he cheated?
I dunno...I believed he was changed and wouldn’t do it in the future so I guess it didn’t matter how it happened. I just wanted a little more clarification, I guess.
I hope he’ll do the story of Roger’s best friend next. Or at least stay in the same universe.

I'd like Marco and Tommy to each get their own HEA. And I understand your spoiler but I thought it wasn't sought out; the opportunities were there and he took them with no compunction.
As mentioned in the other thread (Themes - GFY), I am obsessed with GFY currently. I've been binge reading.. These are the recs at the top of my head right now
Pretty In Pink (Housemates 6) - Jay Northcote It's the 6th book but I read this as a stand alone and did not read the others before it. I really enjoyed it, it's a bit NA but still cute.
The Straight Boyfriend - Renae Kaye I enjoyed this GFY, also read this as a stand alone, did not read the other books
Coastal College Football series
The 2 books are really enjoyable and both are GFY.
I did a reread of Frog by Mary Calmes last night. I love this book and Webber is such a great character. Maybe a little Mary Sue-ish (is there a male name equivalent?) but he's so sweet in a rough kind of way.
