I loved reading all these stories about meeting/dating future spouses, siblings' stories, and pets. All very sweet/cute. Loved the one about calling for "Knucklehead" in the neighborhood! Thanks to those who shared these interesting family tales.

Melanie Lynskey's proposal story is unique, Link it starts at around 3:50.
I've had a nice weekend, today I went out with a group of my best friends and we hung out together, discussed the upcoming wedding of one of them and how dress shopping is going for her (she's got it down to two, one traditional white the other a periwinkle blue) her wedding is at the end of summer time. Leo and Ivy spent some time with their daddy, where Leo decided it was time to show daddy the wonderful mess anyone can make with pancake batter (it's a shake and pour, and Leo shook it alright, lol) and Ivy said hold it my turn to shine and show you how it's done, and let's just say blanket (don't know how because it's usually under the lounger), baby lounger and herself were covered in a stinky mess.
He had to call my mom for help, I was and hour away, and together they cleaned up the kids and tackled the mess.
Whew, what an evening! Tornados were a-bouncing all around the area, but happily the power stayed on & the tornados didn't get too close. But they did some damage out there; as it's getting light out, now we start checking for it. Also, lots of rain, flash flood warnings, etc. I know it rained heavily here for a while, but my usual checkpoints for high water around here; no signs of any this morning, including the sump pumps aren't running as much as I've heard them in the past! (running every 20 seconds--and me hoping they keep working!) Fun part, we've got another bout coming this evening. Yeesh, what a spring!

Sounds very scary to me! Glad you stayed safe and sound.
ETA _ I just heard on the news that today might be a bit worse for the Ohio Valley. I don't know if you're in that area so be safe.

Hope all goes well for you and everyone. Also heard on the news this morning more bad weather today for the Ohio Valley.
Here comes the sun even though I love that rainy day feeling!

Stayed south of me last night; I think some rain came thru during the night but wasn't enough to wake me. Woke up this morning to hear of 2 deaths in Tennessee & 1 in North Carolina. At least we were spared that! Man, it's being a rough spring! Sure hope this stuff starts slowing down...and I don't mean as they travel!

And I did a little indulging because of this! Probably one of the reasons they keep offering it; I keep doing a bit more shopping than normal...and so it goes. Bought a few more Nora Roberts titles from before having my Kindle. The titles I love (and reread, and reread) I bought in ebk a while back,--easier to reread, but keeping the pbks!--so now I'm buying some of the ones from before the Kindle, mostly very early NR's. Some of them I'm rediscovering, found one this morning that I don't remember at all, based on the description. Partners Set in New Orleans, I can't find it in my pbk copies either so must have missed. I'll have to see if it comes back to me...hopefully it will be one I enjoy!

Like KC I did some splurging today, too on a Thriller (Matterhorn by Christopher Reich) the Library has had on order for over a month. The price was marked down to $4.99 and add the Audible for $1.99. I was about to order it a day early when you posted the Kindle Points, BB, so Thanks!
I am not ready to go back to work on Monday. But it's time to go back, my mom is already prepping her baby corner for her and Ivy Eloise. I wish I could stay a little longer my only comfort is that I will be working from home during the summer time. My dad is called me this morning to make sure that I was going to work, so he can plan around Leo's pick up time. My grandmother says Eloise will be fine with her and my mom. I know they will be more than okay, I won't since I'm very sure I'll be crying all the way to work, did it with Leo (was way worse because a week in I was still teary eyed every drop off, and was calling every hour I could). With Ivy she's stayed with my mom while I went to the doctor's and ob/gyn appointments that had some delays due to weather, and even though it wasn't work it was tough to be away from her.
linviolet, I feel for you. Not to get political but I don't understand how the USA does not have maternity leave similar to other countries. I might be wrong, this might be your choice, but in Canada mothers not only can take up to 12 months maternity leave they can also collect employment insurance for the full period up to 12 months. When my daughter in SC gave birth she was graciously allowed six weeks recovery but they started harassing her after four.
Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true.

I get 6 weeks of maternity leave that is paid, the rest is unpaid. If I took more time off it would be unpaid, I worked until 2 days (by then from home) before I went into labor. Then went through the chain of command to get it all in writing. Hence my 3 months at home. Someone did try calling to see if I wanted to go back in before my time was up and I just hung up on them, and sent them the emails stating time of leave and time of return as my reply. If they called again, HR was going to be my next stop. I wish we had better maternity care, but it seems the politicians only care about a fetus more than the baby and mother, once they actually exist milk, clothes and all necessities are lacking or none existent. And don't get me started on corporations who want nothing more than to just fire parent/s for caring about their kids, because their sole focus isn't their company, and they can't have their worker ants not focused on anything else other than corporate greed. Instead of offering day care, or even some sort of service to help with caretaking they blame the parent/s for being good parents and offer them no kind of help. My husband gets 2 weeks paternity leave all paid.
