Finished reading a A Lie for Lie by Helena Hunting, probably not the most original plot (sportsman, secret baby) but it was a fun read and I will probably read the rest of the series over time, liked her style and she doesn't overdo it on the sex scenes. A 3.5 read for me.

I finished reading the Connie Mason book. I really liked it. Even though I'd be reading them out of order, I'm looking forward to reading the other two books in the series. They shipped today so I should be getting them soon. I started to read Rogue by Fabio but I couldn't get past the first few chapters before I had to put it down. I wasn't liking the h. The H wasn't the best either, but the h annoyed me more. In the few chapters she slapped the H three times and kicked him in the shins twice. I don't like when either the H or h gets violent. I just have to be in the right frame of mind to read it. And I'm not in it. I liked the Connie Mason so much that this book, at the moment, isn't doing it for me. So I picked another book but a reread this time. I chose Heiress Without a Cause by Sara Ramsey.
I finished Edith Layton's The Duke's Wager which has been on my wish list a while, and I decided to finally read it. It's an iffy book in the way Layton has created two MC's, the duke and his heir. Both men have deserved bad reputations, especially when it comes to women. Then the sweet, young, innocent, smart, and beautiful Regina comes to their attention and the story begins. Layton's characters interact, grow, and change as the duke's wager plays out. I liked it a lot.

I just started reading Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens. I've read many books without posting here. Good summer so far. With many good books and a possible boyfriend!

Buddy read this one with SIL, best friend, and two co-workers, it's free on kindle unlimited. This is a re-telling of The snow Queen fairy tale. And since a few books have been having the villains as the heroes this one does just that but not. There's a lot going on and nothing going on. It's fun, quick and a smidge (for some a lot) on the steamy side. If you want something quick and light to read I suggest The Snow Queen's Captive by Jill Myles it's part of a series of other re-telling of fairy tales. We each rated it 3.5 to 4 stars.
I am now starting another buddy read titled The Villain by Victoria Vale it's apparently another erotic book with dark elements and revenge. Now my grandmother saw this cover, blushed a bit and then pulled me aside and asked if it had an audio book. So that's my reading buddy for this book. I never question where I get my reading tastes/influence from, but there are days that it does leave me a bit surprised.

Recuperating from my appendix operation I'm definitely in the mood for some light fluffy reading. I'm reading 'Hot British Boyfriend' by Kristy Boyce. So far a extremely pleasant and enjoyable read.

I can recommend the ones, one of my nieces has enjoyed. So if you haven't read it yet the To All The Boys I've Loved Before Trilogy, by Jenny Han.
There's also Perfect on Paper by Sophie Gonzales.
And A Pho Love Story by Loan Le, an enemies to friends to lovers story the families are enemies not the two main characters, but they don't talk to each other until they are older which sets up the start of their friendship and it slowly leads to deeper feelings between the two.
I personally enjoy Tweet Cute by Emma Lord, and When Dimple met Rishi my Sandhya Menon. Opposites attract, slight enemies to lovers going on there, and one has a fake dating trope.
I also read two historical ones that I enjoyed Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. And These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong a retelling of Romeo and Juliet but in Shanghai. These two are not light hearted but quite the adventure.
foureyedgirl A fluffy read sounds like a good idea while you are in bed recuperating. Hope you are feeling better since the op, wishing you a speedy recovery.
I was also in the mood for some fluff and enjoy a very pleasant cozy I borrowed from the library A Lady's Guide to Etiquette and Murder (A Countess of Harleigh Mystery Book 1) . While I thought this was a worth while read it is ridiculously overpriced at $17 for the kindle version, books 2 and 3 are on sale so I one-clicked as I will continue with the series. A 4 for this read.
I have been slowly plodding through The Thursday Murder Club in audio, another cozy which I am halfway through and debating whether to continue. Neither the characters or the plot have really excited me, I am finding it all a bit dull, I feel like I have aged 20 years just listening to the old folks, thankfully its another library borrow so I wont feel guilty if I don't finish.
Wishing you the best, foureyedgirl ! I finished the next book in Allison Montclair's Sparks and Bainbridge Mystery series, A Rogue's Company and it was great, IMO. The story continues with Gwen and Iris' efforts to make a success of their Right Sort Marriage Bureau and things are going well on that front. But Gwen's father-in-law has returned home from Africa and threatens to make Gwen and her son's life unpleasant. He wants to send Ronnie, who is an adorable kid, away to an awful boarding school and since he is Ronnie's guardian, he was the power to do it. But things get complicated and interesting. A fast-paced and entertaining mystery.
hero has a few scenes where it looks like he's interested in getting back with his childhood sweetheart, he doesn't, but he allows for touches and kisses with her. And I really did not like that.
Had it not been for those particular scenes it would have been a solid 5 stars.

thank you for the terrific suggestions. They all seem like great and enjoyable reads. ( I've read and enjoyed the To All The Boys I've Loved Before Trilogy. I absolutely loved it. I haven't read the others but I eager to read them!😀

Some new-to-me books I read recently: Dead Man District (The Taylor Clan: Firehouse 13 Book 2) by Julie Miller. Another great one by this author, and we finally get to see the last of Gideon Taylor's adopted boys get their HEA.
Trouble in Big Timber (Cardwell Ranch: Montana Legacy Book 5) by BJ Daniels. I would have liked to see more chemistry between the H and h, but it was still a good read. If you like your H's very alpha, though, skip this one. He's quite beta for a rancher and former military.
Fearless In Love (The Maverick Billionaires, Book 3) by Bella Andre. A billionaire and the nanny story, so there was not a lot of originality here. However, the writing was good and the characters were likable. There is also a small age gap of 10 years.
