I've been rereading the Rock Chicks all month and I'm on Ren and Ally's bookk now. It's the last one in the series. I really can't compare them to the Stephanie Plum books except they can be pretty funny at times but the men in the R.C. series are some of the most over the top , jealous alpha males ever! They would never pass their lady back and forth like Joe and Ranger .One of them would've shot the other by now. LOL. My pick has always been Ranger. I've often thought a lot of K A's hero's are modeled on him.
Actually, you have one more to go: Rock Chick Reawakening is Daisy & Marcus' story. KA issued it as one of the 1001 Dark Nights titles.
They are most definitely possessive! And when a gal is in strong denial, has major self-esteem issues & hasn't done well in previous dating/relationship experiences; boy does that make for a mess! Thinking of Ava & Luke primarily, since I just finished it, but it applies to several of the Rock Chicks. I came to realize that Ren did feel something for Ava, wasn't just yanking Luke's chain, but I think there's something already there from the past with Ally. I look forward to that one! But I'm not jumping out of line! (well, trying not to...)
I quit reading Stephanie Plum mostly because of her sleeping with both Joe & Ranger (and I agree; Ranger is definitely a role model for guys in the Nightingale Agency!) because cheating is my one No Way! I had already begun to get tired of the ongoing & growing idiocy in the books; felt at times like JE was just throwing all that stuff in to see how wild she could make it, but I don't like cheating. I understood Plum's dilemma; I like both guys as well, but I don't care; cheating is cheating. Ranger knows what's happening, but I don't think Joe did & I think he would be hurt if he found out. Maybe it's already happened; I quit reading after #16.
Has anyone read Complicated yet? I heard it when it released on audio .... I couldn't get into it and now that I have it in print, I'm reluctant to start it ....
I read this courtesy of a loan from beesocks (thank you!). I enjoyed it, but I don't think it's a KA book that I'll soon re-read.
I finished Ren & Ally's story this morning with Revolution; laughed out loud both at the response to the book and at the Rock Chick tours (along with several other points!). Annette is flat out crazy/or smoking a bit too much stuff if she thinks she can get anyone from the Guys to come by for pictures with the tourists! I really enjoyed all of the stories; cried some in Sadie's; shoot, I usually cry at some point in KA's books, but what happened to Sadie got to me. I may wait a bit to read Reawakening; since I know what happens to Daisy will get to me also.
In the KA thread back on Ammy; folks kept talking about one of the gals shouldn't be in the group; had nothing to do with them, & like she was having to "approve" the matches when she had no right. I don't know what they were talking about. Does anyone else remember the discussion & what they meant? Maybe they meant Daisy but she fit in so well; I can't see it!
And does anyone know which series picks up with Mace's group out in LA? Like I need another KA series....
ETA: I checked KA's website; that series isn't written yet. So still floating around in the back of her head. Ah well; other books to read....

I think the one that they said has to approve of a match is Gwen. I know she thought she had a voice in motorcycle man. If I were Tara I would have told her where to shove it, not befriend her.

You're right, they did keep saying Gwen, but I could have swornthey were talking about Rock Chicks and no Gwen there. Ah well, communication!
magicrose99 - Tyra got a really short stick in her book. Gwen is my least favorite character of K.A. She was everything Gwen was NOT, she had spirit, she took no one BS and she was ready to drop Tack from the moment he turned A-hole on her. BUT then something more pressing and more stressful for side characters she cared about would happen and all of a sudden she forgot all about her stuff and took care of business. When Gwen showed her face in Tyra's book I nearly threw the book across the room but I was the bigger person and gave her a chance... Had I been Tyra I would have gone in on Gwen (she did the same thing to Mara), she was NOT an ex of Tack's who had to check up on Tyra. (no kids, no pets, they had nothing tying them together). The woman had no right to go and check on anyone specially since she had her own family to worry about.
I wondered what Hawk thought of Gwen doing that?
I also read Complicated, here are some of things I loved. SOME SPOILERS AHEAD Hix is a huge jerk but I LOVED the fact that he verbally said he was sorry, he goes above and beyond to prove he is apologizing and wants Greta in his life and no more BS would get in their way. Best part of that was Greta who stood her ground, expected better from Hix and told him so he does better.
I had to stop reading for a bit (needed the break due to the whole Ex being so EXTRA extra.) She wanted a divorce, then she wants him back because when he wanted to work things and talk about what was going on she was not ready, now that he's moved on she's ready to deal with it and finally talk? I think Hix handled that well in telling her that they getting back together was not going to happen. Then he goes and talks about how his life was with Greta.
My favorite bit is that he ADMITS his faults and where he made mistakes that was AMAZING!
Oh! I don't want to read a book with Shirleen as the romantic lead either.I picture her as an older woman, a little overweight and with a boistrous personality. And wasn't her dead husband a criminal of some kind? What is KA thinking? Firsy the series with the Domnitrix's and now this. I wonder if she's coming up with these ideas all by herself? LOL.
Don't think that I would read a book with Shirleen as the h, she's barely tolerable as a secondary character. I'm still waiting for Rush's book...why is KA talking about Shirleen when Rush's book is so long overdue!!!!
RUSH! K.A. needs to write his book. I liked him as a teenage boy I want to see the type of man he is,other than a good brother (to his sibs and the club) and son.
I've not gotten to these yet, but reading the synopsis for the 3rd in the series, it references all three sets needed to save the world. So while the individual romances are stand-alones, the ultimate conflict needs all three books. Do like the descriptions, tho! Wonder if a vampire still reads like her typical guys...<chin lift>
