I'm currently rereading Artistic License by Elle Pierson, which is also available on KU. I love this book and have read it several times. It's a cute romance between a socially awkward, art student h and private security "Beast" type (in looks) H.

I've enjoyed re-reading that book, too. The author is better known/more popular now under the name Lucy Parker.

Unfortunately, this is the only book of hers under either name I like. Her Lucy Parker books, although popular, are too YA/NA for me.
I just finished reading the KU book, Seeing Miss Heartstone by Nicole Van and liked it very much. Some of the book's action is described by the correspondence between the H and h as they both work together as business partners, the H in India and the h in England. The letters include some fun puzzles, showing our MCs' fun and intelligent side. Great characters and good writing.

Mariana Zapata has several slow-burn romances available on KU that are great reads. They include THE WALL OF WINIPEG AND ME*, LINGUS, LUNA AND THE LIE*, FROM LUKOV WITH LOVE, WAIT FOR IT*, KULTI*, and UNDER LOCKE. Have read them all and enjoy some more than others (I.e., great even to re-read). Marked those with an *. Would be interested in suggestions if anyone has found an author with a similar writing style.

I've looked and looked and have found nothing quite as good... I'm a fan and hate having to wait for the next!

I just read a book by Lynn H. Blackburn, Beneath the Surface, a romantic suspense novel. It is not in KU, but the second book, In Too Deep, is. I have just started the second book, and from what I've read so far, the author gives enough hints about what happened in the first book that you wouldn't necessarily have to read it to know what's going on. Though the over-arching mystery does begin in the first book. I don't yet know if it's solved in the second book since I haven't finished it , and I also don't know if the author will write more (there's another cop who appears in both books who could have his own romance). It's also Christian-based, but it's not the "push it down the reader's throat" type.

Do the books require either MC to "find salvation" before the HEA can happen? That's one of my biggest pet peeves with Christian romances.

No, agreads. The heroine in the first book has gotten away from praying because she thinks God has stopped listening, and she and the hero do talk about that, but there is no "you must completely believe" before they get their HEA. I don't know about the second book, as I said, because I haven't gotten very far into it.
This book was described as being offered on Kindle Unlimited for the first time. So after this I borrowed and read the boxed set of the complete trilogy, as a KU title: The 100 Series: A Billionaire Romance Trilogy by Lara Adrian. This is contemporary romance that I mildly recommend. (My strongest KU recommendations are for the works of Michelle Diener, Mariana Zapata, and Hailey Edwards).
Just noticed that Laura Kinsale's Flowers from the Storm now shows up as a KU title. When did that happen? This normally lists at $7.99, and the last time it was on sale for $1.99 was in 2016.
Another KU title that I like is The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley (YA Fantasy with romance elements). At the time it first went onto KU, it cost $9.99, and had never been on sale. (It has since been on sale for $1.99 a few times, but is still usually $8.99).
