I'm not usually attracted to Civil War romances, but I was greatly impressed this month with Tamara Alexander's With This Pledge. Perhaps because it was based on a true story. Definitely my pick for this month.
You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.
I've updated my list. I had a lot to choose from. I read a whopping 30 books this month I could have read more but I gave myself a few days off. I have never read so many books in a month before. I know that I won't be able to read that many books in a month again for the next two months because of the holiday season. Most of the rereads were Paranormals. I did read 7 new books this month. I chose one of the new books as my favorite. I went with Sweet Revenge by Rebecca Zanetti. It was part of a series, and while I liked them all, this book stood out. A couple of the honorable mentions were new books, Ruined and Seduced. Two of them are my favorite paranormals, Kissing Midnight and Let the Night Begin. Although all of the books are part of a series, all but one, Kissing Midnight, can be read as stand alones.
My problem with picking a best book this month is that I reread Georgette Heyer's Faro's Daughter recently and nothing else comes close. To pick my favorite new-to-me story, I'll go with Grace Burrowes My Own True Duchess. I like the characters, especially the heroine, Theo, and Burrowes knows her way around a good, well-written story, IMO.
