I finished Grace Burrowes' book 1 of her new mystery series, Lady Violet Investigates, an entertaining story. Violet attends a house party along with an old childhood friend, a burly, handsome Scot named Sebastian and Hugh, a kind doctor friend. Both hero quality fellows. The mystery involves missing items stolen from the guests at the party rather than a murder. I liked the main characters a lot but felt the secondary characters needed a bit more fleshing out, and I didn't really care for any of them. The ending is pretty surprising, however.
ETA--BTY I can loan this book if anyone is interested.

The JAK/AQ/JC reread bingefest continues! I reread Gambler's Woman (one of her Stephanie James from the Silhouette line way back in 1983) and am now over halfway thru Trust No One by JAK.
Happily, I bought Gambler's Woman sometime back in ebk format as it's apparently no longer available in ebk. Weird. I looked at JAK's website; one of the questions on her FAQ list; when will the Silhouette/Harlequin titles be released in e-format? She says she has no control over those, they're still under copyright to Harlequin & it's all up to them. Can bet if they do release, won't be cheap! But hopefully they will be releasing them at some point!
I am skim reading The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn before the second season of Bridgerton. I have a few books I am waiting for their release, and as for currently reading I am reading a fanfiction, I was in the mood to revisit my favorite couple, the one who showed me my love for the forbidden trope and enemies to lovers. (Buffy and Spike) No book has kept my attention for long and so I decided to take it back to the beginning.
Yep, I finished Trust no one by JAK & promptly moved to Trust Me also by JAK. She's the caterer that had to push him to pay the caterer bill when the wedding failed because the bride didn't show up. I really like Sam; he's trying really hard to relate but just isn't used to being in a crowd!
I finished Shana Galen's last book in her enjoyable Survivors series, I Want You to Want Me, although the title should be I Want You to Love Me. Wanting is not the problem. I enjoyed the story and also liked seeing the other books' characters, which I'm sorry to say goodbye to, actually. I would say the book would probably be more enjoyable if you have read the other previous stories. Here is another book that I'd be happy to lend.
I just finished Shenanigans by Sarina Bowen and loved it. What is it about her writing that sucks me in from the first page to the last? It's great because I was in a reading slump and taking twice as long to finish books as usual. Then I started hers and couldn't put it down. I love the whole series and am now looking forward to the next.

Tried very hard but could not read past the first few chapters in It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. In the minority as it is very highly rated, maybe it appeals to the younger generation as reading about a Paris Hilton clone does not work for me. Writing was fine but the heroine was not likable, maybe Ms Bailey managed to redeem her character by the end but I couldn't continue, tossed aside in a huff as that was $5 wasted.

Some authors are just not a good fit for me. Tessa Bailey is one of them. I have attempted 3 of her books and dnf'd 2 of them. It's me because a lot of readers love her, but I can't connect with her writing.
I finished the fantasy series I was rereading and can't decide what to read next. I have a huge tbr list, but it's kind of like staring into a full refrigerator and deciding there is nothing to eat.
