I started reading last night Renegade Love by Ann Aguirre the third book in her Galactic Love series. I have enjoyed the first 4 chapters so far, it's different species, grumpy sunshine, and a whole lot of other cliches in there that had me laughing, because the heroine just points them out.

I finished reading the Vivian Vaughn book, Silver Surrender. And it was ok. The story was fine. It just didn't thrall me. From the library I picked up The Good Girl's Guide to Rakes by Eva Leigh. It's her latest release. I'm almost 3/4 of the way through and so far so good. Not sure yet if I'll end up buying it for my keeper shelves though.
I finished reading Deanna Raybourn's An Impossible Impostor, the seventh book in her series. I thought it was great, but then I have liked all the other books in the series also. This book has more information about the heroine, Veronica Speedwell's past, and it has been a very interesting one. The romance with Stoker seems to be going well until it hits a snag, and there's an interesting mystery, as usual. Can't wait for the next one.

I finished reading the book by Eva Leigh. I really enjoyed and ended up buying a copy for my keeper shelves. Right now I'm rereading the Inferno Club series by Gaelen Foley. I'm almost done with book one, My Wicked Marquess.
Well...I'd started to read Lauren's Devil's Brood trilogy this weekend but suddenly I went NR instead; reread all of the Inn Boonsboro series. Don't know why; what triggered the urge but there it went. Haven't started the trilogy back up yet, I've not read much this week...don't know where this week has gone! But I did just have my next 3 month blood draw for the 3 month checkup today & my CA125 #'s are staying good! (for those who don't know, like I didn't, that's a test for cancer) Glad to see it, I'm not ready to lose the hair again after it growing out nicely!
Currently reading Ormsley by Jenny Hambly, I was in the mood for a shorter historical romance after reading a few longer contemporaries and SF, this book is nicely written and looks to be a clean read. Our hero is on the hunt for a wife but is struggling to find one that meets his rather strict criteria. Bit of a serious chap but he does have a soft and kind side, the heroine is a little eccentric but not too outlandish. Bk 4 of the series, might need to check a few of the others.
I reread Splendor by Janet Nissenson. I've read this book soooo many times because it's one of my comfort reads. It has a high cheese factor, but sometimes that's what I need in a book. I love how sweet and totally smitten the H is.
Now, I am rereading Imperfect Harmony by Jay Northcote (an m/m romance).
Finished reading Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus yesterday. Prior to starting I was expecting a humorous read (thanks for the warning kay1) but overall I found it to be a very sad read. It covers a lot of heavy issues that left me feeling grateful that I wasn't born in my Mums generation, especially as someone who majored in the sciences at Uni. There are a lot of funny moments, quite a few scenes had me laughing out loud but in between I was occasionally reaching for the kleenex. Admired the strength of Elizabeth Zott who kept plodding on despite all the hardships. Loved the dog, his narration provided some balance, there were also a lot of lovely secondary characters. Ends on a positive note, but I finished it with a very sad feeling in my heart. Well worth the read, will probably me my pick for the month.
I am reading C.S. Harris new Sebastian St. Cyr mystery, When Blood Lies, where I assume we will finally get answers to what really happened to Sebastian's mother, Sophie. It takes place in Paris, as far as I read at this point, during the time Napoleon is being held at Elba. The current rulers are making themselves unpopular, and much debate is going on about Napoleon's future plans. It's great to see Hero and the family here and there's an interesting mystery, so I'm enjoying it a lot.
I finished rereading the first three books of the Inferno Club series by Gaelen Foley. I'm going to skip book 4 because it basically wraps up what happened in the first three books. I'll probably read book 5, skip #6 and read #7, but not yet. After rereading the books, I realized that there's always a body count in her books. I reread To Love a Stranger by Connie Mason over Easter weekend. Now I'm reading Nothing but Velvet by Kat martin. I've only read one other book by her but I enjoyed it. Hopefully, I'll enjoy the other books I have from her as well.
Enjoyed reading the latest book in the Class 5 series by Michelle Diener Dark Class a worthy addition to the series. Great story, great characters with our heroine having just the right amount of spunk and just loved her "motley crew". Not sure if there will be more but this series will remain a favourite forever, glad the books were also released in audio.
While waiting for Dark class I tried a historical by Michelle Diener The Emperor's Conspiracy and loved this great little mystery based on true events. A quick clean romance which I enjoyed right up until to the end, found it was a bit rushed and could have done with an epilogue. Well written so it looks like I now need to try some of her other series.

I just read an oldie by Mary Jo Putney, The Bargain, which I enjoyed. The heroine thinks she is marrying a dying man to gain her inheritance and the hero is gaining financial security for his sister. There are several secondary characters that I liked, especially the sister and the hero's Scottish doctor, who have an entertaining romance I almost liked better than the MC's. I also reread Georgette Heyer's The Convenient Marriage which I enjoyed, although I don't generally like her stories with very young (17 years old) heroines as much as her others. And the hero was 35, so I'm not sure I bought into this romance. It does have Heyer's great writing, though.

One thing that added to my enjoyment of reading the cClass 5 series was referencing The Music of the Class 5 Series web page. I wasn’t familiar with Anna Kendrick’s version of Cups, and seeing/listening to the music video made a big difference. Even just viewing the version of songs that Micelle Diener had in mind had an impact. I loved the fact that the motley crew took naturally to her songs. And can you imagine the captain listening to What I like about you?
ariane Thanks for that link, never knew it existed. Adds an interesting dimension to the books. I will use it on my next reread. shame the songs weren't included in the audiobooks.
