I'm reading Once Upon a Mail Order Bride by Linda Broday. I don't read many American historicals, but so far this one is decent. I like the main characters.
Picked another forgotten book from my library, bought in back in 2015, Covering Kendall by Julie Brannagh and if I hadn't paid so much for it I would have not bothered finishing this one. I remember enjoying the earlier books in this series, have my tastes changed so much or was I reading duds and didn't realise it? It's an instalust book, she meets the H, a huge football player (who she doesn't recognise but should) and 3 hours later she has invited this stranger back to her hotel room. Do people really still do this sort of thing, especially a 35 year old woman who was tricked by her previous partner (was married with kids). Rest of story was choppy plot wise, issues between the couple were resolved much too easily and overall too cheesy. A 1.5/5 for me.

I know this thread is for books and not poems. But today I read Stolen Child by William Butler Yeats. Stolen Child moved me to tears. So haunting and touching. Definitely on my list of Molly's favorite poems.
I wish my inner reading voice could do an amazingly authentic terrific Irish accent.

I've finished two books that I enjoyed very much. Emily Windsor's Merry Christmas, My Viscount, book 2 in a series I started with "An Earl in Wolf's Clothing." I know, no one what's to think of Christmas now, but I liked the book anyway. Then I went on to read Nichole Van's Making the Marquess, book 4 in a series. The hero is a doctor who has worked long and hard to become a very good doctor. He is forced to consider a life-changing opportunity and meets a soul-mate heroine who also has a tough decision to make. I really enjoyed reading about the characters in both books.
I actually finished a new title today: Wolf Untamed (SWAT #11) by Paige Tyler!! And then I wanted more, but #12 doesn't release until August. Then I remembered: her new series started already & I hadn't read it yet! So I started Wolf Under Fire (STAT #1) and I'm over a third of the way thru already! STAT #2 releases in late May...Undercover Wolf

I love poetry and read it often. Most recently, I've read a lot of Joy Harjo's poems, the current US Poet Laureate.
I's reading Sarah M. Eden's The Gentleman and the Thief, book 2 of the Proper Romance series. These clean romances are humorous and entertaining with characters from all different walks of life. Like the first book, The Lady and the Highwayman, Eden includes chapters of two penny dreadfuls, one written by our hero, Hollis, and the other by Elizabeth, the h from book two. Some might not like the idea of 3 stories going at once, but the penny dreadfuls are short inclusions and show the authors' personalities at work, besides being fun. Not the usual Regency romance. I would suggest reading the books in order, if you're interested.
Not quite sure where to post this, but Ashes on the Moor and The Lady Highwayman by Sarah M. Eden books are included in Audible Plus (they can just be added to your listening library if you have an Audible Plus or Audible Premium Plus subscription) and The Gentleman And thé Thief is today’s Audible Daily Deal for $2.95
Found Text Me On Tuesday by Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers to be a pleasant fun read. Nothing taxing and I did have quite a few good laughs, more than I was expecting. It is a clean contemporary romance and the first in a 4 book series. Will read the others when in the mood for a lighter read. A 3/5.

I’m listening/reading THE WARLORD by Gena Showalter. It’s good but honestly the tone is Kresley Cole. It’s like the Harpies are now 100% Valkyrie. The names and overall voice feels more Immortal After Dark than Lords of the Underworld.

I wish there were new books by Kresley Cole to read. I think it’s been three years since her last release.
Finished two good reads yesterday. Guest by E Stoops was an interesting light SF read about an alien who looks like a big spider who crash lands on a farm, it was different and well written but has no romance. Look forward to reading Another Guest. Some minor typos, not distracting but book could do with a new cover design as its a bit blah.
Also listened to The Leopard King by Ann Aguirre a shifter romance. Liked that the characters acted maturely and actually talked to each other avoiding unnecessary misunderstandings but not sure if I will continue with series at this stage, has to be very good for me to read shifter books.
