Have any of you read this? It sounds as if it could be good, very emotional with the being held captive for five years, but I'm not sure if it's too dark for me or not. I figured I'd ask you all if you had read it and what you thought about it before spending $6.99.

Sounded familiar. Turns out I sampled in 2014 but gave it a pass. I don’t remember why but it could have been price. Sorry, I know that’s not really helpful info. Just kinda funny how a random, fairly unknown author/book pops up again

I've read it and I loved it. Sadly it was long time ago so I can't tell you much about it. I don't remember much about the plot. What I remember is that one of the heroes suffers from PTSD because of torture and abuse, it was heartbreaking, and I really liked the romance.
Sorry but I don't know how to do the spoiler thing.

Thanks for responding, angeloflight, and welcome to the forum!
***reissued*** This was in the Christmas in the City anthology, no longer available. I had posted in the Bargain thread so hopefully everyone picked it up.
Cute story, better than I was expecting.
Here’s an article on a real life Emergency Goalie I thought was interesting.

YouTube also has some game clips.
mjbett, I loved the article about the goalie -- wow, what a story he has to tell! I forwarded the article to several friends as I think they'll enjoy it too. Thanks for posting it. And if you or anyone can get me a ride on a Zamboni -- or even better, if I can drive it -- you'd be my friend forever!
(This post won’t make a whole lotta sense unless you’ve read my previous posts about Taylor Fitzpatrick.)
Here’s some Extra Info I found out about Coming in First Place (Between the Teeth #1). Goodreads still lists this for a March release. I’m not sure how reliable that is. I’ve seen posts by a few authors complaining about GR (the admins?) adding their new releases w/o permission/input and it screws up the actual release. So the Coming in First Place link may just be a placeholder page with an estimated date. I’m still checking everyday:)
To sum up, the David/Jake story arc will be a trilogy. About 180,000 words and will include additional content from the Archive story. Somewhat spoilery breakdown of the 3 books:
Book 1: Hockey life leading up to the draft and then the beginning of their relationship up to (and including?) the breakup.
Book 2: Their time apart. Jake dates a few women. David concentrates on hockey and makes a few good friends.
Book 3: They get back together during an AllStar game. I think this is about 4-5 years after the draft/original relationship. David is on a contending team now.
I think that’s about right. A little disappointed, tbh. I’m glad that the story will be longer but I’m concerned about the release schedule. I might wait until book 2 is released before I start this.
Wowza! These are up to $8.69 each. I paid $3.99 as new releases and they were both on sale for $.99 at one point. Loved the first, liked the second but not sure I’d be willing to pay this price for book 3.
I’ve posted quite a bit about Taylor Fitzpatrick lately. I feel like I’m spamming her. I just wanted to clarify that I don’t know her. I don’t follow her social media and have never interacted with her there. NO connection whatsoever. She’s just an author I’ve been enjoying lately:)
I'm reading Mia West's latest book Stripping His Armor (Shift & Seek Book 1) Kindle Edition by Mia West (Author) and it's very good but I'm in the mood for something more lighthearted. (gee I wonder why?). I came across the Dreams of a Wombat book. Have any of you read it? Interested in it? It's $4.99 but lendable so if one of you is interested in reading it, I'd be more inclined to buy it.
Mia West's Stripping His Armor is, as usual for her, a very good book. I definitely want to come back to it but just feel the need for a little more lightheartedness right now.

No news on book 3 but I check occasionally.
I got these from the library and then bought them when they were 99 cents. Brooklyn's public library has them.

No worries here. I appreciated all the hard work you put into the post with all the links. :-)
I did that when I first started reading P Jameson. (m/f not m/m) I read the first in a series then just read the next 10 or so and couldn't stop. Then I went on to her older series and started reading those. I was probably coming off as a superfan (or her mother!) during that time.

Nowadays, ya never know. I know the old forum had some bloggers and paid reviewers. Never mind the surreptitious authors masquerading as regular posters. And at least a few authors got in trouble on GR for using their fans to manipulate rankings...something like that. I can’t remember exactly. Just letting everyone know that’s not me. Other than a few comments here, I don’t even post public reviews.
((Not that there’s anything wrong with being a blogger/reviewer. I’d just be more inclined to take their rec with a grain of salt. It seems like there’s often a behind the scenes agenda at play.))
