Elizabeth Hoyt - hands down my favourite
Stephanie Laurens - My two all time favourite books are Devil's Bride and Mastered by Love. I like her Bastion Club series and the first 12 or so of the Cynsters. Don't care for most of her other stuff, especially the Cobra Quartet.
Sabrina Jeffries - like everything of hers, particularly fond of the Royal Brotherhood
Nicole Jordan - Like all her series, have found one standalone that I hated (The Lover).
Maya Banks - her historicals are really good
Amanda Quick - loved almost all her historical stuff, especially the paranormal stuff she continues as JAK and JC
Jennifer Ashley - the MacKenzie Clan, The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie - one of my top 5 ever
Celeste Bradley - all good, particularly the Royal Four Club - (especially Dane's club )
Mary Balogh - really only read the Bedwyn series, but it was very good
Grace Burrowes - amazing the way she writes dialogue. Makes me feel immersed in the time period
Mary Balogh is my absolute favorite HR author. I also enjoy reading Sherry Thomas books. Recently read a book by Camille Osten, which I got as a freebie which I liked. I love books with a lot of angst!

Secretromancejunkie,
We like a lot of the same authors. I agree with you about Stephanie Laurens, for the most part . I did like the Black Cobra Quartet. I liked the first 11 Cynster books. My favorite is All About Passion. I've read all of them but the later ones weren't the same as the earlier ones.
As for Nicole Jordans book The Lover, I liked it but not as much as her other books. But I have a question to ask you about it. In my version of the book, he didn't cheat. Did he cheat in yours? I read somewhere that NJ changed it in a rereleased version.

In the version that I have cheating did not technically take place. I heard that it actually took place in a previous version. In my version they are naked and one is on top of the other. That's cheating as far as I'm concerned, even if tab A didn't actually make it into slot B. I also didn't like that he thought about cheating all the time. He did grovel, though.
Yeah, I like All About Passion too. Gyles was a great H. But Devil still holds my heart . I just love that trope where the H decides within a very short time that this is the woman he will marry, and then sets out to convince her. Sigh......

In mine, they were in the garden or maze and his ex-mistress was on top of him. But they were both fully clothed. She may have had her top down, but I can't remember. But you're right, he did think about being with other women a lot. Other than kissing his ex-mistress, he didn't act on it, so I didn't really consider it cheating. But to each their own, right I'm glad that she was strong and did leave him. And I liked his groveling. He knew he made a mistake and he tried to fix it. That's what made it a keeper for me. My favorite NJ books are Ecstasy and The Seduction.

Josie Yes, I really liked Ecstasy too. It's been a long time since I read The Seduction so long ago, I don't really remember it. I'll have to move it nearer to the top of the TBR pile.
Still looking for the book that your avatar came from. I'll find it eventually
I am listing this subject as it was on the Amazon discussion forum and hoping everyone will follow to this thread.
Hello? lol I am not up to speed on this site, but I am hoping I will figure it out fast.
Hi georgettausten,
At the moment I'm reading Duke's Prefer Blondes by Loretta Chase which if I remember was discussed on the old site ( I was a lurker) and I'm pretty sure OLT gave it 5 stars. I'm enjoying it very much 😊

Hi, tangerine--glad to see you here. Hope everyone follows us over. I loved that discussion. I got so many marvelous recommendations from it. Dukes Prefer Blondes is excellent. I just finished Jayne Fresina's The Bounce in the Captain's Boots (Ladies Most Unlikely Book 3) which I loved. Have you read her? This book is the last of a series of 3; I liked all three books in the series. She writes so well; her prose is marvelous, and her books are witty.
georgetteausten - I would add Johanna Lindsey and Heather Graham but only their older stuff pre-2000. I've mentioned these before but two of my favorites are -
