Stumbled onto an old post (not on this site) that got me wondering.
I haven't but I bought it back in 2018. I wish I could loan it to you but it isn't lendable.
Haha, I actually have it too. We prob bought it in the same sale:) I read a post on another site. I don’t even know how to quantify it. I’m pretty sure the poster was in the wrong but I don’t really feel like reading 3 books to find out
No big deal. It’s probably not a rabbit hole I want to fall down into anyway.
I watched The Old Guard this weekend. I liked it very much! I guess it’s been trending a bit on social media and there was quite a bit of promotional advertising. I kinda, maybe remember seeing an ad for it but it wasn’t on my radar until my cousin rec’d. It’s a Netflix original so only available there.
There’s an MM relationship:) It’s not the focus of the movie but they have a few sweet scenes together.
I guess it’s based on a series of comics The Old Guard (10 book series) I liked the movie enough to look up the source material. The first installment is free. Eh, gotta admit I’m not a fan of the mixed media storytelling. I’m not willing to pay to continue the story but I might see if I can get it from the library. The ending of the movie leaves it open for a sequel and I think the comics are still going.
***Regarding the movie—no nudity and the violence was comparable to Avengers or Star Wars. I was okay with my teenager and almost teenager watching it but no go for the younger kiddos.
Z.A. Maxfield has left Dreamspinner. I think that’s new. Brief check of her website didn’t mention it. I only noticed by seeing a couple of her ebooks becoming unavailable.

I used to get Dreamspinner emails every day but for the last several months I've just been deleting them without looking, because I didn't want to give them any more money. Then this weekend, I unsubscribed from their emails.
Family Recipe Kindle Edition by Tia Fielding (Author), Lisa Henry (Author) I just finished this one this morning (started last night) and I couldn't put it down. Stayed up way later than normal then didn't want to start work this morning until I finished it. I figured I'd come here and tell you guys about it. Loved it -- every word, especially the epilogue! And it's lendable.
When I was on Ammy and maneuvering to the website, I saw that there's another book about someone else in the same family. I've never read a book about someone who is genderfluid (I think that was the term that was used) but after loving book one, I am giving this one a try. Recipe for Two Kindle Edition by Tia Fielding (Author), Lisa Henry (Author)
All three of these are lendable, as is book one of the Soldati Hearts series, so let me know if you'd like to borrow them. Now which one am I going to read first???
Good morning -- I was looking for a book last night but had no luck. I thought maybe someone here would know..... I know it's a recent release or at least I read about it a couple of time within the last 2 months or so. One main character has been widowed and after his wife died, he needed help with his kids. The second main character is his nanny. Six years in, the "manny" knows he has to leave, because he's in love with his straight employer and can't take it anymore. Once he puts in his notice, his boss realizes what the loss will mean and begins to wrap his head around the fact that he's attracted to a man. Or something similar to that. Any ideas?
None are recent publications though. Seems like I remember something else....wasn’t there a multi-author series
Thanks so much for trying but none of these are it. The blurb starts off by saying the manny has to leave, that he's been in love with the dad of his charges for six years and he can't take the pain any more. I just don't know where it is! I am going to go through all my M/M wish list books again, and all of the pre-order wish list books too. If I didn't buy it, then surely I added it to one of the lists! But I can't find it, figured I bought it, but can't find it in my purchases either! Of course, I buy so darn many books, who knows? I've been searching but no luck. If/when I find it, I'll let you know. Thanks again!

Holding On To His Manny (Amber Falls Book 3) Kindle Edition by Rheland Richmond (Author) FINALLY!!! I went through all the books on my M/M and preorder wish lists again and nothing! I finally found it by searching on Amazon: "gay romance nanny widower children" and this came up. When I saw the cover, I thought "oh yeah.....". I bought it September 3rd; it was published August 24th. I had searched all my recent purchases too but either didn't click on this or didn't go back far enough. That's what I get for having so darn many books.
Thanks for looking, mjbett! It was appreciated as always! On the good side, Mary Calmes' FROG came up on a Goodreads list of best books of M/M nannies and kids, so it prompted a re-read. :-)
ETA: Now I get what happened. Yes, it says I purchased it but as soon as I hit the purchase button, I turned around and asked for a refund. It's available as KU too and I figured I should save my $4.99 and use the KU. But.....after requesting the refund, I didn't go back and add the book to my M/M wish list and I didn't immediately borrow it via KU. So it didn't show up anywhere I searched. Darn it. I should have just spend the $4.99 since I've wasted so much time looking for the stupid book! :-)
Josh Lanyon has officially cancelled the sequel to The Haunted Heart in a pretty self pitying (imo) Blog Post , full of her usual excuses
Her quality has greatly declined and I think she’s been concentrating on her Patreon. Since she can’t commit to her release schedule I’m assuming that’s her only source of income? While I don’t work in a creative field, I can understand how difficult it must be. Muses can be incredibly fickle, I’m sure, but I’m glad to quit her. She has some amazing gems in her backlist and I would have stuck with her through a drought. It was the endless pushbacks and delays for listed books that got me. Not to mention the botched releases. It’s been going on for years...long enough that she should have known it wasn’t working.
I completely don’t understand why she wouldn’t wait to list a book until it was in final edits or at least *very* close to being done. Then establish a marketing/promo schedule. Maybe that means less promotion than she would wish but her current model has proven unsustainable anyway.
I’ve been loving her hockey universe. Rereading the outtake snippets and the new stuff as she posts. I bought some of the extra bundles through her. She really has quite a bit of material.

I haven't joined a patreon for anyone but I wouldn't be against it. I just have so many books I want to read from so many different authors in different genres that I don't even know who I would support. So I just buy books here, there and everywhere and read as much as I can.
I am currently reading a library book using Marvin. Always before I would convert the epub to mobi and email it to my ipad to read them on the Kindle app but in the last month or so, the books aren't showing up in the app. So I figured I would read them in epub using something different than Kindle. What do you all use?
For the past 3 or 4 years I’ve been reading mostly on my Paperwhite or Kindle Oasis. They’re not backlit and I like that best. I have good eyesight and don’t have much issue with eye strain yet. It’s just a personal preference but I think it’s easier on my eyes. The occasional non-Amazon purchase/download have been ones I can send to docs and then I still read on the kindle. I have quite a few purchases through B&N. Lesser amounts through iBooks, Kobo, a few others. I would have to read those through the app on my iPad but as my kindle library has gotten exponentially larger, I’ve gotten lazier about checking other sites. There’s always something on the TBR kindle mountain. Haven’t really used the library much either.
